Moments we can't forget : IPL 2021

With the second half of the Indian Premier League slated to start this weekend, let's cherish some of the most eye-catching moments we had witnessed in the first half of this cash-rich league.

5. Prithvi Shaw starts with a bang

Chasing a target of 155, one would have expected Delhi Capitals to start slowly and accelerate further. But Prithvi Shaw had other plans. The swashbuckling batsman lit up the Narendra Modi stadium by smashing KKR pacer Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in the very first over of DC's inning. He eventually went to hit 82 runs off 41 balls, bagging the Man of the Match award too.

4. Two sandstorms on the same day! Which one excited you more?

April 27, 2021: The day witnessed one of the most devastating sight on the cricket field. No, I ain't talking about the sandstorm that invaded the Ahmedabad stadium. I am talking about the storming inning by one of the most charismatic batsman to have graced the game, AB de Villiers. People call him Mr. 360° for a reason! His hard hitting carnage proved too good for the Delhi Capitals as they were set a target of 172 runs to chase in 20 overs. Despite Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer's fighting fifties, DC eventually succumbed to a 1 run defeat.

3. Pollard blitz rescue Mumbai Indians

Chasing a humongous total of 219, Mumbai Indians found themselves reeling at 81/3 with the required run rate crossing 13 rpo. But, out walks Kieron Pollard, and what happened next was some raw power hitting. He hit 8 sixes and 6 fours in his 87 run knock, powering MI to a four wicket win over arch-rivals CSK.

2. Shahbaz Ahmed seals the deal!

With 35 runs required from the last four overs with eight wickets in hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad found themselves on the driver seat. But followed next was something no one would have expected. RCB captain Virat Kohli gave the ball to Shahbaz Ahmed, a lesser known spinner playing in his first season of the IPL, to bowl the 17th over. He got the prized wickets of set batsmen Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey on the first two deliveries of the over, and then went on to get Abdul Samad caught and bowled on his last delivery. It was down to this over that RCB won the match by 6 runs.

1. All hail Sir Jadeja!

Having restricted CSK to 154 after 19 overs, RCB would have been the happier side. But they didn't know what Ravindra Jadeja had to offer that day. He took a toll on Harshal Patel, the Purple Cap holder, and smashed him for 37 runs in the last over. He also picked 3 wickets in that match and was adjudged the Man of the Match for his heroics.
